Privacy Policy

How CabCuts handles your information — in plain language.

This Privacy Policy explains how Kerf & Co LLC (“Kerf & Co,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a Westown Labs company, collects, uses, and shares information when you use the CabCuts mobile app and related services (together, “CabCuts” or the “Service”). CabCuts is designed to work offline — your cabinet designs live on your device, and we collect as little as we can.

The short version

  • Your cabinet projects are stored on your device. When you subscribe to CabCuts Pro, they’re also backed up to our servers automatically so you can restore them — you don’t need to sign in for that.
  • Subscribing creates an account tied to your app-store purchase. You can optionally add Sign in with Apple or Google to use CabCuts across devices and platforms.
  • Purchases are handled by Apple and Google — we never see your card details.
  • The free tier shows ads through Google AdMob.
  • We do not sell your personal information.

Information we collect

Designs and content you create

Cabinet dimensions, materials, layouts, and projects you build in the app. On the free tier these stay on your device. When you subscribe to CabCuts Pro, a copy — encrypted in transit — is backed up to our servers automatically so you can restore your work; this runs through your subscription and doesn’t require you to sign in.

Account identifiers

When you subscribe to Pro, we create an account for you identified by a token attached to your App Store or Google Play purchase — this lets us back up and restore your projects without a separate sign-in. If you also choose to add Sign in with Apple or Google (which lets you use CabCuts across devices and platforms), we store that sign-in identifier as well — a stable, pseudonymous id for your account. With Sign in with Apple’s “Hide My Email,” we never receive your real email address.

Subscription and purchase data

Purchases and subscriptions are processed by the Apple App Store and Google Play. We receive and verify purchase receipts and store your subscription status, the product identifier, and a store-provided account token so we can grant and restore your entitlement across your devices. We do not receive your full payment-card details.

Diagnostic and performance data

We collect limited, aggregated operational metrics — such as error rates and request timing — to keep the Service reliable and secure. This is not used to build advertising or marketing profiles about you.

Advertising data (free tier)

The free tier displays ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers and similar information to serve and measure ads, subject to Google’s advertising policies and your device’s ad settings. You can reset or limit your advertising identifier in your device settings, and CabCuts Pro removes ads entirely.

How we use information

  • To provide, maintain, and improve the Service;
  • To enable cloud backup and sync of your projects;
  • To verify, grant, restore, and manage subscriptions and purchases;
  • To keep the Service secure, reliable, and free of abuse;
  • To display ads on the free tier;
  • To comply with legal obligations.

How information is shared

We do not sell your personal information. We share limited information only with:

Data retention & deletion

  • On your device: local data remains until you delete a project or uninstall the app.
  • Cloud backup: retained while your subscription is active. If your subscription lapses, your cloud copy is kept for 90 days — so you can resubscribe and pick up where you left off — and then permanently deleted from our systems.
  • Deletion on request: you can ask us to delete your account and associated cloud data at any time by contacting us at support@kerfandco.com.

Security

Data in transit is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS, and purchases are verified server-side. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take commercially reasonable measures to protect your information.

Children’s privacy

CabCuts is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live — for example, the EEA/UK under the GDPR, or California under the CCPA/CPRA — you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@kerfandco.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. You can also limit ad personalization through your device’s privacy settings.

International users

We are based in the United States and process and store data there (through Cloudflare). If you use CabCuts from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in the U.S.

Third-party services

CabCuts relies on the following third parties, each with its own privacy policy:

  • Apple — App Store, in-app purchases, Sign in with Apple.
  • Google — Google Play, purchases, and AdMob advertising.
  • Cloudflare — hosting and infrastructure.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the “Last updated” date above, and for material changes we’ll provide notice in the app. Your continued use of CabCuts after an update means you accept the revised policy.
